Ingredients needed to prepare Spaghetti Bolognese
- 2 tablespoon oil
- 400g beef
- 1 onion diced
- 2 garlic cloves chopped
- 160g (3½) of carrot diced/chopped
- 2 X 400g tin chopped tomatoes
- 400ml stock from the beef
- Green pepper/beans diced
- Salt, maggi and pepper
How to prepare Spaghetti Bolognese
Step 1: Boil the minced beef to get the stock after adding maggi cube and salt
Step 2: Heat a large saucepan and add oil, add onions, carrot and green beans
Step 3: Add tomatoes to the pan and stir well to mix, pour in the stock, bring to simmer and reduce the heat, to simmer and reduce the heat, to simmer gently for 45minutes or until the sauce is thick and dried. Taste and adjust the seasoning as necessary.
Step 4: While cooking the spaghetti, get another pot, add water and heat till it boils, then add a spoon of oil and pinch of salt. Cook according to the packet instruction. Once the spaghetti is cooked, drain and add it to the pan with the Bolognese sauce. Mix well and serve.
This Bolognese can be cooked in advance and frozen, leave to cool completely, then pour in a freezer proof container, it will be safe in the freezers for up to 2months.
