Achieving a balance between academics and social life while in high school, college and any citadel of learning is challenging. School in general is a very stimulating environment, full of wonderful opportunities for both social and learning activities.

Finding your balance may be most difficult if you are a first-year student, because school provides so many more choices especially, higher institutions.

While an ideal balance may be hard to find, wise use of time can help.

In other words, what am I trying to say? It’s simple for you to lead a balanced life, you must adequately manage your time.

You need fun in your life. Some students schedule every available minute for studying. Usually, this leads to ineffective use of time. If you try to work longer hours, you may find yourself in a spiral, working increasingly longer hours and getting less done.

This is called the law of diminishing returns.

If you believe you are overworked, the solution is to reassess the time you devote to fun. Have you allowed yourself quality fun time? Some “fun” activities take a lot of time, but don’t produce a sense of enjoyment. Hence, the need for a balance.

Worthy of mention too is religious activity. In addition to this, some clubs and other organizations.

As a student, you are expected to balance these other aspects of your life with your academics. But as a scholar, you are expected to give preference to your academics.

The Holy book made us to understand that there is time for everything.
